Established in 2011, Laparo Obeso Centre (LOC) is a pioneering institution specializing in Laparoscopic Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Strategically located in Pune, LOC has been certified by the International Excellence Federation (IEF) and recognized as an International Centre of Excellence (ICE) by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), USA.
Founded by Dr. Shashank Shah, a global leader in bariatric and metabolic surgery, LOC began with a mission to provide cutting-edge surgical solutions for obesity and metabolic diseases. Over the years, it has grown to become one of Asia’s High-Volume Centers, offering advanced surgical techniques such as single-incision and no-scar surgeries.
At LOC, we are committed to achieving a perfect blend of technological excellence, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and compassionate care. In its journey of over a decade, LOC has trained over 2,000 surgeons from across India and the Asia-Pacific region, established itself as a pioneer in metabolic surgery for diabetes, and achieved milestones such as being featured in the Limca Book of Records for performing 45 hernia surgeries in just 10 hours.
